What's the difference between panettone and colomba? They're two great traditional Italian leavened cakes, each with its own distinct shape, yet very, very similar in terms of ingredients, texture, and flavor. One is served at Christmas, the other at Easter. But what really differentiates them? For a long time, I believed that two different product names necessarily corresponded to two substantially different products.
